Open Ocean Lab

Drift across an endless ocean at golden hour. Fly just above the waves or rise into the clouds, then shape the scene with wind, swell, foam and sunlight controls. Real-time wave simulation brings the water to life with choppy crests, lingering whitecaps and a glittering path to the sun. Adapted from Noniv’s WebGPU ocean renderer, with touch controls for exploring on a phone. Requires a browser and device with WebGPU support.

Explore Ocean Simulator

Ocean Simulator recreates an open sea with simulated wind waves, rolling swell, whitecaps and sunlight reflected beneath a procedural sunset sky. It adapts Noniv’s open-source WebGPU renderer into an interactive ocean you can explore in your browser.

Drag across the sea to look around, use WASD to fly, and open Settings to adjust the wind, waves, water and sky. Touch controls let you move and change height on a phone. Pause holds the scene still, and Reset view returns to the horizon. The simulation requires WebGPU support; unsupported devices show the project artwork and a compatibility message.
